Some hope for blind people.
A
Polish scientist Michał Bujacz is working now on an innovative system
of sound. This system might be very helpful to blind people. The promoter
of this project is dr hab. Paweł Strumiłło from the
Electronics Department. Bujacz is working on a special 3D sound
system, the main aim of this device is to communicate the distance between
a blind person and some object by a specific sound. The sound will be high
when a person is near the object and low when a person is far from it. In
the future Bujacz’s invention
will have a lot of sounds of different intensity. Nowadays
scientists are working with groups of volunteers and testing the first
version of
this program. The results are promising. We all
hope that this new technology will be developed and still tested in
our country because
in the future it can appear to be very helpful to blind people.
