Searching for a new type of a vaccine.
Scientists from Gdańsk in Poland are working on the vaccine
against type C jaundice, it’s caused by Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), one of
five types of viruses which causes virus hepatitis.
It is quite recently discovered virus and before that people who were
blood donors weren’t examined for this virus so it could have been easily spread from one human organism to another. The way
how this virus spreads is very similar to HIV virus, so we can suppose
that the number of people who are carriers of this virus is very high. All
the worse that this virus can be recognized in a human body after several
years and consequences of this can be very dangerous and this can be too
late for any help then. Polish scientists predict that vaccine will be
ready to use in the nearest 5 – 10 years. The team of scientists from
Gdańsk is a part of the European medical consortium.
