100 days before Matura final exams
A school party for last grade students and their
teachers is called Studniówka in Poland. The party is organised
about 100 days before the final exams at the end of secondary school. It
usually lasts all night. There is always some band and DJ to play good
music. That event is an excellent opportunity to have fun with schoolmates
and and an occasion to wear smart clothes. Tradition says that every girl
should wear red strings otherwise she won't pass her exams. The
party starts with the national Polish dance called "Polonez".
After that everybody eats supper and then the band starts to play music.
Of course, the moment when everybody goes dancing is the most awaited time
of the event. Our Studniówka took place on 13th of January 2006 in a nice
restaurant. The atmosphere was cheerful and all the participants –
the teachers and students enjoyed it very much. We will never forget that
day.
